… these flavour icons are only a few reasons why we come back to Asian cuisine. The smooth and tangy sauces. The soft and tender meats. The rich and fragrant curries. Not many cuisines can equal the reach and rich flavours of Asian cuisine that have adorned our plates and our taste buds.

Honouring the classic and timeless flavours of our past, we have curated and refined a selection of items that reflect our love for mouth-watering Asian, as well as cheekily adding a few of our own tasty experiments…

An unassuming four-storey brick warehouse, 11 Heffernan Lane has come full circle; once one of Melbourne’s first ever Chinese restaurants in the 1800s, this historic building is once again serving delicious Asian dishes to the gracious public of Melbourne.
This building was in fact credited with introducing Asian cuisine to Melbourne, as well as being the first Chinese restaurant in the city that was frequently visited by the Western populace to get a taste of the east.
In homage of this building’s history, our logo brings together the silhouettes of a traditional Chinese pagoda and 11 Heffernan Lane’s iconic rounded arched windows.
With Melbourne’s Chinatown being the oldest Chinese streetscape in the world, it’s only fitting that it’s the place where we continue to make history with Niübi!
